It is never too early to start crafting for Christmas.&nbsp; It is even better when you can recycle items that would normally go into the bin.&nbsp; Here are a number of everyday household items that can easily be repurposed into adorable ornaments. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Buttons<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pull out your button box and see how fun it is to create. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Snow Ball \u2013 Starting with a Styrofoam ball (inexpensively purchased from a craft or big box store), attach buttons of various colors and sizes using a tailor\u2019s pin through the hole in the button.&nbsp; After one complete round, you will probably see a few spaces where the Styrofoam is still visible.&nbsp; Simple.&nbsp; Add another round of buttons until you are satisfied.&nbsp; A cord or ribbon makes it easy to hang on the tree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tree \u2013 Thread a needle and knot the end.&nbsp; Run the thread through the holes in buttons to assemble a tree.&nbsp; Start with the base with brown or tan smaller buttons to form the tree trunk.&nbsp; Then some larger buttons and gradually move to medium and smaller ones.&nbsp; You can go for all green or be colorful with whatever suits your style.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Jar Lids<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Take the band from the top of a mason jar (try thrift stores if you are not a canner).&nbsp; With a hot glue gun affix ribbon or artificial moss around the band.&nbsp; You now have a wreath.&nbsp; Add a ribbon loop and some tiny ornaments and you have an original ornament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Shadowbox<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This time use a full mason jar lid or another clean lid.&nbsp; Spray paint it if you like.&nbsp; Cover the interior with card stock and then let your imagination go.&nbsp; Use buttons, or crop down a favorite photo.&nbsp; A little sprig of something and you have a cute shadowbox.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Odds and Ends<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Getting ready to throw out that jigsaw puzzle with the missing pieces?&nbsp; Instead, use them to form an almost-3D reindeer.&nbsp; See how the round parts of the puzzle piece can become antlers or a long nose?&nbsp; Add googly eyes and a tiny pompom nose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Glue Scrabble tiles onto a length of ribbon to issue a holiday greeting or short phrase.&nbsp; Vertically they can be hung as a tree ornament or on a long swag added to a garland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On a rainy summer day, pull out some of these ideas and set the kids to crafting instead of video gaming.&nbsp; Turn on some Christmas carols and celebrate Christmas in July.&nbsp; For more Christmas ideas, <a href=\"https:\/\/christmas-gift-shopping.org\/\">please visit our site today.<\/a>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Check out <a href=\"http:\/\/www.projectsanta.org\">Project Santa<\/a> here<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Christmas Decorations.
